Guests have sole use of the barn: an open plan kitchen, dining and living space with floor to ceiling glass, two ensuite bedrooms, a beautiful lawned private south facing garden, and two patios placed to capture the morning and evening sun. It is a peaceful rural retreat, yet Hexham is only a mile and a half away and Hadrian's Wall just one mile from the door.
This is dark sky country. Northumberland is home to the Northumberland International Dark Sky Park and some of the darkest skies in England, and after dark the garden at East Salmons Well becomes your own front row seat. Pull on your bathrobes, pour a glass of something nice, and watch the stars appear over the hills. It is the part of a stay here that guests talk about most.

Country walks, cycle routes and village pubs are all a stone's throw from the doorstep. Hadrian's Wall is a mile away, the historic market town of Hexham a mile and a half, and the village of Acomb, with three traditional pubs, is a fifteen minute walk. Explore all day, then come home to the quiet.
